Wrekin Orienteers were confirmed as winners of the West Midlands League for 2024 last night, following cancellation of Octavian Droobers’ Brandon Wood event due to the weekend’s stormy weather.
Wrekin held a 188-point lead over bigger rivals Harlequins going into what would have been the seventh and final race of the year; confirmation of the final standings means that Wrekin have won the title in successive years for the first time.
The final league table is as follows:
| Club | Points |
|---|---|
| Wrekin Orienteers | 5668 |
| Harlequins OC | 5480 |
| Octavian Droobers | 4420 |
| Walton Chasers | 3522 |
| Potteries OC | 2795 |
