Although orienteering events take place on specific dates and in specific places, if these aren’t convenient you can still go orienteering!
Permanent orienteering courses are a great way to learn or practise orienteering skills at a time that suits you. They can be usually be found in easily accessible areas such as parks or National Trust land, and have “controls” usually marked by a small plaque on a wooden post (you will see examples in the video below).
