Attingham Park, Wednesday 6 August 2025

Wrekin Orienteers and the National Trust welcome you to come and try Orienteering at Attingham Park, when help will be available to guide you through what you need to do to navigate your way around a map of the Park.

We look forward to seeing you at this event which will be open from 10.30am until 3.30 in the afternoon.

Venue: Attingham Park near Shrewsbury – access opposite the Mytton and Mermaid pub at Atcham.

Postcode: Sat Nav – please use postcode SY4 4TP and follow signs on approach.

Please park in the designated Attingham Park National Trust car parks, then make your way through the main entrance; once in head through the courtyard and out into the Parkland where you should see the signs for the Orienteering. Please come up to the desk and register and help will be there to show you what to do next.

Please be aware that if you aren’t a National Trust member, you will have to pay a fee to get in, but the good news is there is no extra charge to go orienteering!

Courses: You will have the choice, depending on your knowledge and ability, to choose one of the three courses on offer. These courses along with the map will be free to those who wish to come and try Orienteering.

The course lengths will range from just under 1 mile to just over 2 miles and are designed and planned specially for newcomers and inexperienced orienteers to try.

Please wear suitable clothing if it’s wet and muddy, although hopefully we’re expecting it to be dry weather again.

Medical information

If you wish any medical information to be available to a practitioner in the event of an emergency, please fill in the British Orienteering medical information form, place it in a sealed envelope with your name on it, and deposit it at Enquiries. It will not be opened unless we have reason to believe you may have suffered a medical emergency and will be shredded after the event if you don’t collect it.

This event is just for fun so there will be no formal results.
